As of January 31st 2017, Jan no longer displays work at Spencer Art Gallery II in Charleston. Spencer II has closed it's doors and Jan declined to move next door into Spencer I which remains open. As a slow traditional realist producing a small collection of works each year, she has chosen to focus on commitments to special event appearances. She remains eternally grateful to Jerry and Cathy Spencer for their many years of support. (Spencer Gallery will continue to process payment for purchase of items on Jan's website. Visit Purchase Info page above.)
Jan will return to Marion Square this spring for her 11th appearance in the Piccolo Spoleto Outdoor Art Exhibition May 26 - June 10, 2017. Sponsored by Charleston's Office of Cultural Affairs, this free admission exhibit showcases the work of more than 80 South Carolina artiists in their own individual booths. Piccolo Spoleto is an annual two week visual and performing arts festival and is the regional sister to Charleston's Spoleto Festival USA occuring at the same time. Spoleto USA hosts performers from all over the world for eclectic offerings in visual arts, music, theatre, and dance. Together these sister festivals bring Charleston alive with multiple daily events and venues through out the city.
" Thanks to all of you who visited me in the ballroom of Charleston Place for the 2017 Southeastern Wildlife Festival. Sorry to have missed those of you who visited on the final day of the show as a very bad flu kept me from attending."
